BEHIND THE BRUSH

The most frequent question I'm asked is how I got started as a face painter. It's a funny story really... I have a small daughter who I caught drawing on our white dog with markers one day. Thinking to teach her a lesson I asked her how she'd like it if I drew on her. Well, she loved it, and so did I! I began experimenting with face paints, and before long I had built myself up a little business! 

 

I have no formal traning or background in art. Actually, I have a "day job" that I also love as a dental hygienist! I've always needed a creative outlet though, and have always been drawn to a beautiful esthetic. After playing with photography, scrapbooking and watercolors, I've found that face and body art is what really fulfills me. I think I love it so much because of the joy it brings the people I paint on! 

 

All of the paints and materials I use are specifically created for cosmetic and theatrical use. They are FDA approved and safe for use on even children's skin. Perhaps my background in healthcare makes me especially concerned with providing a safe and sanitary painting environment, whether it be public or private.
